The Property

The Farmhouse

On the edge of the Ariège village of Rieucros, nestling in the foothills of the Pyrénées, le Périé is a traditionally stone built farmhouse. Dating from the 1850’s, it retains many of its original features exposed beams, central fireplace, Dutch barn and stables. Accommodation is comfortable, very spacious and traditionally furnished.

Set in 30 acres, the the river Hers, with it’s variety of coarse fish, flows through our private woodlands.

A stunning focal point of the property is the attractive swimming pool which is totally secluded. It has it’s own pool house and vast landscaped terrace, ideal for al fresco dining during the long hot summer months.

Ground Floor

		A stable door from the courtyard opens into the well-equipped kitchen. Complete with fridge/freezer, conventional gas stove and electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee percolator and twin sink. The pine table and chairs provide a comfortable dining area.
		The separate utility room houses a washing machine, clothes drier, iron and ironing board. It also doubles as a pantry for your fresh provisions.

The open plan lounge/dining room has a tiled floor and exposed oak ceiling beams. The dining area has a large oak dining table with period tapestry chairs.

Provided are: Wi-Fi, T.V, DVD player, music centre and a small selection of books and board games. An extensive DVD rental library is available free of charge. Large French windows open onto the back garden which leads to the swimming pool.

A large wooden open staircase features in the corner leading to the first floor.

First Floor

		One Double en-suite bedroom.
		One twin en-suite bedroom with 2 adult size single beds.
		The rooms have ceiling fans and toiletries and hairdryers are provided.

The Grounds

	Access into the property is from the large pea shingle courtyard. with ample room for parking.
	To the back of the property is an enclosed garden which leads on to the swimming pool. The garden and grounds are totally fenced in making this a safe area for children and toddlers. Garden furniture is provided - ideal for breakfasts or simply relaxing.
	Leading off from the garden is the very attractive swimming pool, with a large landscaped terrace. There is a brick Bar-B-Q, dining table, chairs and sun canopy – everything to make this the ideal spot for outdoor eating.
	The large pool house, with fridge, can be used as a refuge from the sun or, in the event of rain, as an in-door dining area.
	Sun loungers, cushions and pool towels are provided.

	There is also a large enclosed backfield which can be used for ball games.
	The river Hers flows through our private woodland which spans over 30 acres. In season, it is possible to fish. Otherwise it is a wonderful spot for walking and if lucky, spotting some of the wildlife such as deer, foxes, kingfishers, woodpeckers or even wild boar! A truly beautiful spot, a place to enjoy complete solitude!
